Conan Goes To TBS

Looks like Conan O'Brien finally found a place to call home. After being fired from NBC, TBS will pick him up. It will be an hour-long and run from Monday To Thursday. I love Conan (even changed the sites name for him) so I'm glad he's found a place to settle down.

Blu-Ray Review: The Simpsons The Complete 20th Season

The Simpsons have been on so long... well it's kind of amazing. The fact that a show of any kind, even a reality show, hits 20 years is amazing. But an animated one? It seems impossble. As an extra gift to us, The Simpsons have churned out one of he finest seasons in a long time.

At the beggining of the season, it seemed like buisness as usual, with duds like Lost Verizon and Dangerous Curves. After that, it was a bunch of classics like Eeny Teeny Maya Moe and Take My Life Please. Episode wise, this was a classic season.

Bonus Feature wise, this set is an abomination. There's a 3-Minute clip to the Simpsons Documentary, but we all already saw it. The previous Season Sets had Audio Commentaries and Deleted Scenes.

Still, it's a good season and it IS nice to see the Simpsons Blu-Ray, the format of the future. If only the bonus's were as good as the episodes.

Good Luck, Chuck...Again

It seems NBC has their own Scrubs on their hands. Chuck returns from the dead tonight. It turns out in it's 3rd season Chuck will have new powers and friends to help him. I have always liked the show and I'll tune in.

Plus, tonights the 450th episode of The Simpsons at 7. A documentary immediatly succeds it. Sounds like a good night for TV.

Editorial: Best of The Decade: Part I The TV Shows

There's no particular order to the list, just in any order you please. So, here for your viewing pleasure, is the 10 shows that shaped us as a whole this decade.

Glee: Where else could singing high Schoolers roam? Plus, it made it okay to laugh and actually dance to a TV show again.

Dexter: Violence. Sounds bad? Dexter made it cool to wtach an assassin kill people. And you can't help but chuckle when you think that a man can be a father and still be a grand murderer.

Survivor: Classic. Never in a billion trillion years. But half (maybe even 75%) of the shows on TV wouldn't even exsist without this reality sensation that paved the way for American Idol and Jon and Kate.

The Shield: Wow. Michael Chiklis played the ultimate cop and shaped Cable forever. He may have been a cop, but breaking laws still weren't below him...or even being worse than the criminal.

24: Kiefer Sutherland IS Jack Bauer. And he IS the best action star on TV. With so many iconic things (the split screens!), it's hard to know when to stop praising the ultimate action show on TV.

Breaking Bad: This hillarious and dark show is quite a powerhoue both ratings and cticaly wise. It's the ultimate show for anyone who likes drama and tension.

Lost: This show (which will end in May) is nerdvana, combining WHAT WAS THAT with mystery. J.J Abrahms has shifted TV not only with fringe, but with Lost.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Scoff if you must, but this show is no kiddie fare. On the contrary, it's as riviting as Lost with it's dark and powerful stories. It's a treat to see someone besides Hayo Myaski and PIXAR using animation to it's full potential.

American Idol: The reaility hit is one heckuva show, putting great talent and people behind great music. Plus, we met Adam Lambert. Now that's love at first sight!

The Sorprano's:
How could we even mention the 200's without mentioning this gem? The Godfather of television, you really know the characters as if they are your own. Though the climx was...climatic, the show still rests as one of the greatest ever, something for generations to come to behold and awe.

DVD Review: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a visit from Charlie and the gang. This time Charlie Brown has to cook up a wonderful meal for all of his friends. With SNoopy and Linus by his side, he has a feeling he just might make it.

I love the Peanuts gang (in fact, look for my review of A Charlie Brown Christmas and I Want A Dog For Christmas, Charlie Brown in a few weeks.) I love each special, but this and the Christmas oone are among my favorites. There are plenty of laughs to be had, my favorite being Snoopy cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

No Thanksgiving is complete without the Peanuts gang there. This is one of the finest half-hours ever on television.

Rating: A or 9.5 out of 10

Preping Up For Prep and Landing

Disney will premiere their very first Christmas special ever Tuesday on ABC! It's called Prep and Landing. It's about the elves that help Santa get ready for the year and make sure the big guy arrives perfectly. The short sounds extremely cute and I am very excited to see what will happen with it. The great Dave Foley stars, so we know laughs are bound to happen.

Plus, when I was at the mall yesterday, I saw at the Disney Store some Prep and Landing dolls modled after some of the elf characters. These look wonderful. Plus, Disney is having a sale on them, so I'd recommend getting them for some X-Mas decorations!

I am very excited for the special. It airs Tuesday at 8:30/7:30 central and after Charlie Brown Christmas. Can't wait for it.

Oprah Has Left The Building

Oprah Winferey will end her talk show. When? September 9, 2011.

Wow. The most watched cable talk show in American history is going to end. This sort of mirrors what happened in 2003, when Jay Leno announced he would be ending in a few years. Let's pray she gets better stuff then ol' Jay did after The Tonight Show.

Wish you well Oprah. Wish you well.

TV Review: Merry Madagascar

This is one of those times where TV ratings baffle me. Besides one character *possibly* being durink, I cannot imagine why this isn't G. Other than that minor quibble, there isn't much to be said about Merry Madagascar except that it's alright.

You have likely seen the two Madagascar films. This takes place between the two, when they hurt Santa Clause (GASP!!) , give him amnesia, and then have to save Christmas. A bit cliche' of a plot? Oh yes. This whole thing has been done before. But at least it's a little cute.

The whole cast has returned, including Ben Stiller, though not Sacha Baron Choen (Bruno). There is a few very funny things, like a claustrobia line, Santa's gifts to the 4 main animals and the Russian reidneer (They belong to Santa) and their war with the penguins. Some good stuff there. It's way better than the made for money only second Madagascar, so maybe this is a step in the right direction for the franchise which will become a trilogy in 2012.

Rating: B or 7.3 out of 10

Note: You can see this again on December 11, 2009 or buy it only at Wal-Mart on DVD.
