Transforming in May

Michael Bay has actually psoken a bit about Transformers 3, which will definitly start shooting in May. Michael had this to say:

"There will be a nice crescendo ending, it gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you're gonna get a much cooler landscape."

Hmm. This could be interesting. I love both of the Transformers films very much but I am ecstatic ot hear that mroe character devlopment is coming for the great robots in disguise.

Avatar Drops Miraculously, Holmes With Bells On, Chipmunks a Powerhouse, Complications? Nah, The Blind Side Continues, Nine Zero, Up In The Air Flies

Avatar led the biggest weekend of all-time, making 75 million. It only dropped 3.6% and could become the biggest second weekend of all-time when all the money is counted tomorrow. Avatar has also become the biggest IMAX film ever and could surpass Transformers 2 by the end of the year.

Sherlock Holmes had the second biggest debut at the 2nd spot this weekend making 65 million. The film will likely make 230 million and become a new franchise for Warner Bros.

Up in The air made 11.7 million and made 11,000 per theatre. The film has made 24.5 million and could become a huge OScar contender soon.

The Chipmunks Sequel became the first film at number 3 to make 50 million. This sequel could be a rare film to surpass it's predeccesor at the box office.

Nine was a bomb, making only 5 million. Unlike Invictus, reception has been tepid so Oscar noms are unlikely.

The Blind Side went up 17% and will make 210 million total. Sandra Bullock's year continues fabuosly.

The Princess and The Frog has made 63.3 million and dropped 28.4% this weekend. A 100million gross may not happen after all.

The weekend was overall stupendous, shattering records and capping of the greatest year in film history.

Review: Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had tons of anticipation. Did it live up to all of that hype? Almost. Almost, but better than anything else that has come along with such hype.

The plot is about Sam Whitwicky, a boy from California, who wants to go to college, but finds that the Transformers have a new robot to fight: The Fallen. He soon becomes more than they ever could have dreamed thanks to the Matrix, a powerful object that destroys suns. It's up to Sam, Optimus Prime and Mikela (Megan Fox) to stop The Fallen and Megatron once and for all.
Let me get something to Michael Bay (the director) right now: this didn't need to be 154 minutes long. More like 130 minutes. A lot like The Twin robots and some love bits easily could have been deleted. However, this film has tons of action, enough to keep someone like me in such a good mood that people will think he's gone mad. Optimus Prime is a technical marvel, as is Devastator, a 120 foot robot made up of 7 robots!!
The film may have needed osme cuts, but it isn't like it is the first one to need usch things. It isn't better than the first Transformers, but it's sure good nonetheless.
Rating: B+ or 8.1 out of 10
