Dawn of First Class

Breaking Dawn and X-Men: First Class have gotten release dates. First up, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will (presumably) be one film after all. That film will be directed by Bill (Dreamgirls) Condon and will be relased November 18, 2011, going up against Happy Feet 2. I don't think any film will move because of Twilight entering the frame just because the Twilight films tend to be front loaded (i.e. New Moon dropped 70% in it's second weekend)

X-Men: First Class will be released June 3, 2011, a mere two years following X-Men Origins: Wolverine. At the helm this time will be Matthew (Kick-Butt, Stardust) Vaughn will direct this installement. If you want a fun fact, Mathew was approached to direct X-Men 3 back in late 2004!

Eclipsing To IMAX

New Moon has now made over 250 million dollars, so it's no surprise for the next installment in the series, they wanted to go bigger. Eclipse will now be in IMAX. We are not sure if it'll be in 3D yet.

Tyler Lautner's abs have never looked so good.

Blu-Ray Review: Harry Potter 6

Now this was a really boring flick. It's hard to compare it to Twilight, since in it's original November 2008 date it would have been come out before Twilight, but man it seems all the romance in this film has come form Twilight!

The story this time around, is that Harry Potter and Dumbledore have to stop Voldemort soon. They leanr of a powerful secret that may help them...or destroy them. Meanwhile, love abounds as 45 minutes are spent trying to get all the boys and girls together.

This film may be 159 minutes, but it still feels short. There is never any realy ending it just...ends. I felt at the end like we needed a little more meat. There is some good acting here as well by Michael Gambon and Jim Broadbent and Dnaiel Radcliffe, but a few others stink without a trace.

This franchise is one of the greatest in history, so one average installment can be forgiven. I am excited for the Deathly Hallows films next year and in 2011, but for now, this weak adventure just dosen't seem to represent what Harry Potter really means.

Chris Weitz Says New Line Didn't Have A Moral 'Compass'

Chris Weit (diector of New Moon and above) has just come out about the notorious bomb that was The Golden Compass. He has stated it was a horrible experience and that they ruined the film. He goes on to say they removed him from the editing process.

Quite frankly, both of his films were horrible. But if he can come out that Golden Compass was bad, maybe one day he'll come out and say that New Moon was bad.

Speaking of Twilight, I'll be removing my cool name tomorrow. I love it too, but we need to get back to ordinary matters.

Long live Doug's "I Hate Twilight" Domain!

Film Review: New Moon

Last year, I gave Twilight an F+ and called it one of the worst films of the year. However, it did make 192 million dollars, so cue sequel (and trumpets). This time, Edward leaves Bella and this igves Jacob time to enter Bella's life. And they go overseas. To be honest, I fell asleep a few times.

The only thing good about the film is visually, it's mediocore. Some fur looks good and a werewolf is kind of cool anywhere. Oh, and Dakota Fanning is at least trying. The rest seem to know 'I will do 2 more of these so I can just rub it off'. They make Hayden Christian from the Star Wars prequels look like Sean Penn.

But you all knew I hated this movie before you read this review. So go see it if you want to waste 2 hours of your life, go ahead. If not...AVOID!!

New Moon a Boon, 2012 Holds, Blind Side Comes To the Front, Precious as Ever and Disney Caroling to the Bank!!

New Moon made 140 million dollars this weekend, the 3rd biggest weekend ever, beating Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for that honor. IT also made 36,000,000 dollars at each of it's 4024 theatres. New Moon also holds the not so good honor of the 2nd time that half of the money it made in 3 days came from Friday alone.

Meanwhile, The Blind Side made 34.3 million, a sum no one expected. 2012 held well, with 26 million. It has grossed 108 million now.

Precious made 11 million and went up 120.2%. This is quite a rare thing, so congrats, congrats. Finally, A Christmas Carol has made 79.7 million, on par with The Polar Express at this point.

The weekend overall made 248 million, the 2nd biggest weekend ever.

New Moon Has Gone All The Way

New Moon has made 72 million on Friday and may make as much as 135 million over the weekend. That 72 million put it as the biggest Friday opener ever.

This is both sad and amazing. Oh well. I'll have a review up tonight. So keep coming back, we'll have full box office and reviews.

The Moon Has Almost Risen..

New Moon has surpassed The Dark Knight in ticket sales. Yes, The Dark Knight. This is..weird. I gave the first film an F, but I will still see the sequel. Let's hope it's better, like The Empire Strikes Back or X2.

By and by, Eclipse (the 3rd Twilight film) won't have teaser on New Moon. That'll arrive on Sherlock Holmes.
